Retirees To Get Highest Social Security Cost-of-living Adjustment Since 1982



Social Security benefits will be 5.9% higher in 2022 than this year. This is the largest increase since 1982, when inflation was rampant from the “stagflation” economic era. To put the increase into perspective, Social Security’s cost-of-living (COLA) increase has averaged 1.65% over the past decade.
